Changes From Last Year
This year marks the seventh generation of the SL but the second year since the current model’s debut. The Roadster returns to its classic roots with a soft top this year. Technology and Connectivity
A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an adjustable 11.9-inch central media touchscreen are the two screens for the car. The multimedia display offers navigation, visible readouts, and many more features. Additionally, this screen can be accessed and controlled with touch buttons on the steering wheel.
Interior Detailing and Comfort
The convertible offers 213 litres of cargo space, plenty to safely store away belongings, groceries, and anything else you take on the drive. The convertible only seats four, making it less suited for families. There are seven available interior seating colours for Nappa Leather, with four available trim options.
The interior detailing features a hyper-analogue cockpit, using rich materials and a thought-out design to enhance the driving experience.
Exterior Design and Features
The vehicle’s exterior is sporty and sleek, giving fluid contouring around the chassis. The exterior has 12 body colours available, including Sun Yellow, Selenite Grey Metallic, and Hyper Blue Metallic. The fold-down soft-top roof comes in black, red, and grey, matching whichever body colour option you pick. The wheels for the vehicle are a set of 21-inch AMG 10-spoke Y-design wheels.
Performance and Power
Thanks to the Handcrafted AMG 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo engine, the Roadster can reach 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The handcrafted engine delivers a stunning 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs well with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G nine-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel efficiency for the convertible is fair considering the power delivered, using 11.3 L/100 km on the highway and 17.1 L/100 km in the city. Certainly not as fuel efficient as more common vehicles, but the power-to-fuel consumption ratio is handled well.
